The problem with summer is that it’s never long enough. No
matter how much I try to squeeze into my summer schedule, some things always
get left out. One thing I’ve always wanted to do is go on a road trip across
the U.S. before college. I would pack up a Jeep with my closest friends and start
traveling with no final destination in mind. Part of the reason I hate going on
trips is because there is so much planning and stress about money. We wouldn’t
bring any kind of technological navigation, just old-fashioned roadmaps to help
us find amazing places we never knew existed. On the trip I would want to climb
a mountain in the Rockies because it’s something I’ve always wanted to do. We
would leave right after graduation and just wake up every day with no game
plan. When family or friends had a few days free I would fly them out to
wherever we were to enjoy it with us. On the trip, we would watch an MLB game
in every stadium in America.
Every other summer my dad’s side of the family has a family
reunion. Our family from all over the country comes to Branson and we spend the
week together. If I had unlimited funds, I would pay for all of us to go to an
island and spend the week there instead. We would rent yachts and spend time on
the ocean. We all look forward to the family event because it is the only time
we get to see our relatives from far away. We have always wanted to go
somewhere farther away but never had the money so I would definitely take the
opportunity to treat my family.
After our family reunion I would have to take few weeks to
go to Camp Re-New-All, where I am a counselor. With all my money, I would make
sure everyone came to camp for free.
